What is a fluorescent lamp

Fluorescent lamps, also known as fluorescent lamps, are now mainly divided into traditional and new types. Generally speaking, the traditional type is a low-pressure mercury lamp, which uses low-pressure mercury vapor to release ultraviolet light after being energized, so that the phosphor emits The principle of visible light emits light, so it is a low-pressure arc discharge light source.

What are the common fluorescent lamps

Common fluorescent lamps are divided into four types, including straight tube fluorescent lamps, color straight tube fluorescent lamps, circular fluorescent lamps, and single-ended compact energy-saving fluorescent lamps. What are the characteristics of these are the following.

1) Straight tube fluorescent lamp. This fluorescent lamp is a double-capped fluorescent lamp. Common nominal powers are 4W, 6W, 8W, 12W, 15W, 20W, 30W, 36W, 40W, 65W, 80W, 85W and 125W. Use T5, T8, T10, T12 for pipe diameter. The lamp holder uses G5, G13. T5 color rendering index>30, good color rendering, ideal lighting effect for colorful items and environments, low light decay, long life, and average life of 10,000 hours. Suitable for use in colorful occasions such as clothing, department stores, supermarkets, food, fruits, pictures, display windows, etc. T8 has better color light, brightness, energy saving, and longevity. It is suitable for use in hotels, offices, shops, hospitals, libraries and homes where the colors are simple but high brightness is required.

In order to facilitate installation, reduce cost and safety, the ballasts of many straight tube fluorescent lamps are installed in the bracket to form a self-ballasted fluorescent lamp.

(2) Color straight tube fluorescent lamp. Common nominal powers are 20W, 30W, and 40W. Use T4, T5, T8 for pipe diameter. The lamp holder uses G5 and G13. Color fluorescent lamps have low luminous flux and are suitable for decoration and color display of shop windows, advertisements or similar places.

(3) Ring fluorescent lamp. Except for the shape, there is not much difference between a circular fluorescent lamp and a straight tube fluorescent lamp. Common nominal powers are 22W, 32W, 40W, and the lamp holder uses G10q. It is mainly provided as a supporting light source for ceiling lamps, chandeliers, etc., for lighting purposes such as homes and shopping malls.

(4) Single-ended compact energy-saving fluorescent lamps. The tube, ballast and lamp cap of this fluorescent lamp are tightly integrated (the ballast is placed in the lamp cap). They cannot be disassembled except for destructive blows, so they are called "compact" fluorescent lamps. Since there is no need for an external ballast and the drive circuit is also in the ballast, this fluorescent lamp is also a self-ballasted fluorescent lamp and an internally activated fluorescent lamp. The entire lamp is directly connected to the power supply network through the E27 lamp holder, which can easily directly replace the incandescent lamp.
