Introduction to Explosion proof Terminal Box

Time:2023-12-12 Views:0

The wiring terminals of the explosion-proof junction box are placed inside the explosion-proof junction box/box for the purpose of connecting cables or wires (also known as explosion-proof connectors). In order to ensure that the wires and cables of electrical equipment are firmly connected and prevent the generation of sparks, arcs and the ignition of explosive mixtures during the operation of electrical equipment, explosion-proof junction boxes and connectors should be used for the connection of cables and wires of Class I electrical equipment with a power greater than 250W or a current greater than 5A that generates sparks, arcs or hazardous temperatures during normal operation. The form of wiring is determined based on the usage environment and relevant technical requirements. The junction box should meet the following requirements: convenient wiring operation; The explosion-proof junction box should leave space for the radius of wire curvature; The electrical gap and creepage distance between exposed conductors inside the junction box should comply with the relevant regulations of the corresponding explosion-proof type: to prevent arc and flashover phenomena, the inner wall of the explosion-proof junction box should be coated with arc resistant paint.

The connectors should have sufficient mechanical strength and structural dimensions, ensure reliable wire connections, ensure that the connections are not loose under the influence of vibration and temperature, and avoid sparks, overheating, and poor contact. Special precautions must be taken for connections with light metal materials (such as using copper aluminum transition joints for aluminum core cable connections).
