Japanese Olympic minister Marukawa Zhuo said in July 2nd local time, taking into account the future situation of COVID-19 infection, through the five party talks with the Tokyo Olympic Organizing Committee and International Olympic Committee (IOC), properly respond to the Tokyo Olympic Games spectators and other issues.
As the epidemic situation in Tokyo continues to worsen,
there are opinions within the Japanese government and the ruling party that it
is necessary to consider holding the Olympic Games without spectators.
Marutagawa said on the 2nd that it will hold five-party talks with the Tokyo
Organizing Committee of the Olympic Games to clarify how to deal with the
audience\'s admission to the games when Tokyo issues an emergency declaration or
applies "key measures such as preventing the spread of the
situation.". She also said that in the case of rapid changes in infection
and medical conditions, all parties have reached a consensus on the rapid
response measures.
On the other hand, marukawa minister
said that some news media and the Olympic delegation visiting Japan went to the
same bus for interviews, which increased the risk of infection spread. In the
future, measures will be taken to require the media to abide by the epidemic
prevention rules.
