Firstly, we must understand that explosion-proof and waterproof are two different concepts. Some unethical manufacturers sell waterproof LED lights as explosion-proof LED lights. Waterproof LED lights belong to ordinary lighting and cannot be compared to LED explosion-proof lighting. If LED explosion-proof lamps can cause a short circuit in water and cause a fire, explosion-proof lamps will not be selected in hazardous areas, which can lead to on-site explosions and casualties. Therefore, explosion-proof and simple waterproof are two concepts. The type of explosion-proof form to be used and the level of protection to be used must be clearly defined by the user, and the manufacturer should also inquire clearly.

Secondly, LED explosion-proof lights have a certain waterproof function. When purchasing, users should determine whether the waterproof level of LED explosion-proof lights meets their own needs based on actual needs. Generally speaking, the waterproof requirement for LED explosion-proof lights is IP65-IP68.

Below, I will briefly introduce the meaning of protection level numbers:

IP65 6 refers to no dust entering, and 5 refers to spraying water in all directions without harmful effects.

The front 6 of IP66 indicates no dust entry, while the rear 6 refers to strong water spraying towards the casing in all directions without harmful effects.

IP67 6 indicates no dust entry, and 7 indicates immersion in water at the specified pressure. After a specific period of time, the water inflow of the casing will not reach a harmful level.

IP68 6 refers to the absence of dust entry, while 8 refers to the conditions agreed upon by the manufacturer and user (which should be harsh when the feature number is 7). After continuous diving, the water inflow into the casing did not reach a harmful level.
